When you are deciding what products are best for your house it can be easy to get confused by jargon. Lots of different words can be used to describe what might look like the same thing. We have collected together some of the questions that we are asked most frequently so that you can find the answers in one easy to access place.

Do you need planning permission for an orangery?

A question we get asked very frequently is if you need planning permission for an orangery or conservatory. We’ve written a whole blog post about getting planning permission for your orangery or conservatory, which you can find here. In general, you need planning permission if your house is in a conservation area. You also need it if you live in national park or designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Additionally, if the volume of the house will be increased by more than 15 per cent or 70 cubic metres, you need it. Other considerations include if the conservatory is not on ground lever, the house has already been extended, or the house is in a terrace. We can help you through the whole planning process, guiding you on who you need to contact.
