As an addition to the original house, the existing conservatory structure had a split roof – part tiled roof and part polycarbonate – with wooden framed windows and a side entrance in the shape of French Doors.
Since window replacements, the frames of the conservatory had not matched the rest of the house and the customer wanted to change the position of the doors to the garden as part of an overall home improvement scheme.
As an additional issue, there was also a construction problem with the level of the original brickwork which had caused problems.
Within the week and a half timescale of the project, we removed the polycarbonate roof to be replaced by glass and installed new double glazed window units and a re-positioned uPVC French Door. This included brickwork adjustments to move doors – replacing and repairing brickwork – and also the addition of a new course of bricks to the wall aspect of the conservatory to level it out and remove any problems.
The roof interior of the conservatory was stripped back, filled with Celotex insulation for maximum energy efficiency and timber installed to change the complete feel of the inside of the conservatory.
