Composite doors come with a whole host of advantages and benefits.
Our customers often ask us about the differences between composites and PVCu. It can be easy to think that a door is just a door, but there are some clear advantages to composites. Here are a selection of advantages of composite doors.
1) Stronger and sturdier
First of all, composite doors are strong and sturdy. As the name might suggest, composite doors are made out of a selection of materials, including rigid polyurethane, uPVC, and GRP. These materials make the door far stronger and sturdier than a traditional PVC door. This means that your door will last longer than a PVC door, and will still have the low maintenance needs that we associate with PVC.
2) Wide variety of designs
One of the biggest advantages of composite doors is the sheer range of options available to you. From traditional panelled doors, to modern full height glass panels, you are spoilt for choice. Additionally, there are also a broad range of handles and fittings, like knockers and letter plates. You can see a couple of examples of designs on the left, or head to Apeer’s website to see the full range.
3) So many colours!
Composite doors have a timber effect look, which gives you the appearance of a wooden door, without the hassle. Therefore, this is one of the most exciting advantages of composite doors. In addition to this appearance, your colour options are vastly increased! Composite doors come in both the standard colours of blue, black, red, white, rosewood, and oak. However, if you’re looking for something that will stand out a little more, you can go for one of our more exciting colours. These include mandarin orange, traffic purple, and turquoise blue!
4) Composite doors are more thermally efficient
Doors can be one of the places where energy and heat escapes our homes. As a result of this, Apeer composite doors have been designed with thermal efficiency in mind. The composite materials, and the sealing system on the doors means that your home will be more energy efficient. Therefore, you might find yourself saving on your energy bills!
5) Safe and secure
Finally, home security is a big concern for any home owner. Composite doors come with additional locking options which can give you piece of mind. This includes the Yale keyless lock, which has a pin pad instead of a key. A composite door can also be fitted with an AV2 lock, which locks when it is closed.
